Javelin is excited to meet a Student Marketing Assistant for a 4-month Summer term beginning early May. You will be responsible for various Marketing activities, including social media, email creation, event planning and more.  



Position open to post-secondary students who are interested in gaining experience within a corporate business environment and who will be returning to school. The Marketing or Business Administration student filling this position must be a fast learner with good energy.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.   The individual must be an innate problem solver and a resourceful individual capable of managing several projects at once.   




  • Database cleaning
  • Creating email templates
  • Sending post-webinar and post-tradeshow emails to registrants and attendees
  • Regularly updating Pardot drip program content

Content Creation 

  • Creation of event registration pages for various events
  • Gathering information for posts on Javelin's online Resource Library

Marketing Materials

  • Ordering pop-up banners, signs and other printed materials as needed
  • Keeping inventory of brochures
  • Updating and ordering new brochures as needed

Social Media 

  • Social media calendar creation and updates
  • Post and interact regularly on social channels
  • Brainstorm new ideas for social channels

Shipping / Receiving  

  • Pulling packages together to ship for events/tradeshows, office supplies, etc.
  • Event supplies to each office including; SWAG, pop up banners, table cloths, etc.
  • Receiving packages of orders in Oakville and organizing where they should be stored, etc.

Events - In person

  • Sourcing event venues in our preferred cities, creating a spreadsheet in SharePoint with all the details for each venue
  • Booking venues, coordinating catering and rentals
  • Assist with social media before, during and after events
  • Pull registrant lists from Eventbrite for pre-event confirmation calls and follow up calls


  • Packing for tradeshows and confirming booth set-up when needed
  • Arranging trade show shipments, when required

Back to School Event Coordination 

  • Planning and coordination of the annual Javelin 'Back to School' event in Oakville in August

Customer Experience Project

  • Assist in reviewing and improving the Customer Onboarding process, and determine strategies for Customer Retention that can be implemented company wide.



  • Currently enrolled in Business Administration or Marketing program
  • Organization and planning skills considered essential
  • Technology savvy considered essential
  • Social media experience - Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
  • Comfortable with technology Pardot & Netsuite experience would be an asset
  • Pardot email creation and deployment experience would be an asset
  • Experience in event planning would be an asset
